The BBC has announced plans to show more games of the English Premier League. The broadcaster will show up to 44 live games per season, with some matches being shown simultaneously. In addition, it will air two games per round on its talk SPORT service. The broadcaster also has the rights to some in-game clips and online highlights. The BBC will also broadcast games on its own channels on BBC One and BBC Two.

The BBC has also announced the return of Match Of The Day, which has become a staple in the television viewing habits of football fans. This popular show shows highlights of Sunday games and includes expert analysis from former Premier League players. Match of the Day has been running since 1966 and has become a staple of the Premier League's schedule.

The BBC also announced its Team of the Week for the upcoming Premier League season. It included five players from Liverpool and two players from Leicester City. Although the Red Devils are yet to play a game in their season of 2021-22, they were hopeful of extending their unbeaten start in the league and breaking a record.

The broadcast also featured a discussion on the 20-year career of Arsene Wenger, which included former Arsenal players, journalist Amy Lawrence, and Piers Morgan. Meanwhile, Gary Lineker visited New York City FC and talked to the club's players Frank Lampard, Patrick Vieira, and Andrea Pirlo. Additionally, he also spoke to former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar and chief football writer John Cross.
